Gladys I. Pape (Frostburg)

FROSTBURG – Gladys Irene Pape, 86, of 10712 Washington Hollow Road, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at the Cumberland Villa Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 31, 1919, in Wellersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Noah E. Witt and Mary M. (Troutman) Witt. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson H. Pape; one daughter, Kay Marlene Pape; one sister, Elma M. Witt; two brothers, Curtis Witt and Mryle Witt; and one granddaughter, Deanna Werner.

Mrs. Pape was a homemaker. Gladys was a member of the Frostburg Church of the Brethren, and she was a member of the Frostburg Moose Lodge Auxiliary for more than 25 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Darlene M. Jenkins, Ridgeley, W.Va., and Salley E. Werner and husband Ronald, Corsicana, Texas; one brother-in-law, Milton Pape and wife Pat, Morgantown, W.Va.; and one sister-in-law, Elesta Pape, Frostburg.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Raymond W. Jenkins and wife Christine, Ridgeley, W.Va., Steven R. Jenkins and wife Kelley, Marshall, Va., Ronald Werner, Corsicana, Texas, Brian Werner and wife Julie, McKenny, Texas, and Randell C. Jenkins and wife Linda, Martinsburg, W.Va.; eight great-grandchildren, Justin R. Jenkins, Morgantown, W.Va., Angela M. Jenkins, Fairmont, W.Va., Brianna Werner, Corsicana, Texas, Cody S. Jenkins and Dillon R. Jenkins, Marshall, Va., Mason Werner and Blake Werner, McKenny, Texas, and Camillia R. Jenkins, Martinsburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dan Taylor of the Melvin Methodist Church, Cumberland, officiating.

Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Raymond W. Jenkins, Steven R. Jenkins, Wesley Kroll, Donald Witt, Dean Witt and Fred Jenkins.
