Accident Ruled in Man’s Death

Authorities have ruled John F. Woods, 75, of 950 Gay Street, who was found dead Wednesday evening, died as a result of injuries suffered in an accidental fall.

Death was caused by internal bleeding from a fractured skull suffered when his head struck the edge of a newel post at the bottom of a flight of stairs.

Born in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late Patrick and Mary A. (Keating) Woods.

The body is at the George Funeral Home where services will be conducted tomorrow at 10 a. m. by Rev. Marius Elsener, OFM, Cap., pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be in Allegany County Cemetery.
