Birth: Richard Marston Keating

It’s A Boy For Thomas Keatings

Superior Judge Thomas F. Keating and his wife, the former Margaret Shearer, became parents for the third time when Mrs. Keating gave birth to a son Thursday night at San Rafael General Hospital.

Mother and son were reported “doing fine.” The boy was born at 7:40 p.m. and weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces.

He has been named Richard Marston Keating. The name “Richard” comes from his great-grandfather, who was the first Keating to come to Marin in 1866, Judge Keating said. It is also the name of an uncle who now lives in Marin. He is also named for the late Lt. Marston. Shearer, former brother of Mrs. Keating.

The Keatons have two other children, Tommy, 3, and Kathleen, 16 months.
