    Mrs. Maud Pope TURNER, widow of George C. TURNER, died suddenly at her home on the National Highway, near Shade Mills. She had been in failing health for the past year but for the past six months had been active about her home on the fatal morning had arisen and was in the act of preparing breakfast when she was stricken with a heart attack. She was born near the place she made her home on September 15, 1876, and was united in marriage to George C. TURNER in 1896. Surviving are the following children: Catherine TURNER, Wellsburg, W.Va.; Frank TURNER, at home; and Weaver TURNER, near Frostburg. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, with Rev. V.R. Gillum, Methodist pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion cemetery. Attending the services form a distance were Mrs. Jennie (TURNER) WEAVER, and daughter, Sarah, Buckhannon, W.Va.; Mrs. Mollie (FROST) TURNER, Baltimore; Mr. and Mrs. James MICHAEL, and Mrs. George McGEARY, Youngstown, Ohio; Private H.J. HUMMEL, Jackson Air Base, Jackson, Miss., and Mrs. Annabelle DAWSON, Piedmont, W.Va.
